I am trying to locate the Yeomans family, who may have moved to Appleby from Birmingham around the time of the First World War.
William Yeomans was born in Ullenhall, Warwicks. in 1860, though the Yeomans family originally came form Derbyshire. William married Caroline Powers, my father's first cousin (b1867, Ufton, Warwicks.), in 1889.
William and Caroline lived in Harborne, Birmingham immediately after their marriage, moving subsequently to Winson Green. He worked as a domestic coachman and groom according to the 1901 Census, probably in the Edgbaston/Rotten Park area of the city.
William and Caroline had a son, William Howard (b. 1893 in Harborne(?). It is likely he would have served in the First World War. I do not know whether they had other children.
As a six-year-old in the summer of 1947, shortly after my father's death, I remember visiting Appleby with my mother, who had explained to me that I had 'cousins' living there, and she wanted to let them know about my father's passing.
Unfortunately a lot of what took place that day rather went over my head, and it's very difficult to recall very much that happened sixty years later.
I would be extremely grateful for leads.
