A relative of Dr Salmond has asked if anyone knows which house he lived in. There's a mention of him on the history site - he was the village doctor after the war.
Anyone know?

I'm the grandson of Dr Salmond. I recently visited Appleby Magna and stayed in a lovely B&B called Ferne Cottage run by Mr and Mrs Bird, who started this thread. The main reason for my visit was because I felt a strong compulsion to visit the place where my father, Dr Salmond's eldest son, grew up (my last visit was over 10 years ago). This compulsion followed the death of my father last year. It was lovely to spend some time in the village and to see the grave of my grandfather again, who I never met. I am extremely interested in my family's history even though I have never researched it. However, this is something I want to do and hope to start in the near future. I would be very grateful to anybody who had any kind of connection to Dr Salmond and the family if they would send me their memories and recollections. Anything at all would be eagerly received. My email address is chrissalmond@arcor.de Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.
