I have some info., (kindly provided by others) about the Jordans, of Appleby, my great grandfather John moved from Appleby to Stretton, Burton in the mid 1800s. My grandfather was married at Stretton to Sarah Eyre, from Newton Solney, but I wonder if anyone knows of a connection with "Appleby" Eyres to the "Newton" Eyres?

I have links with Appleby via the Jordan family, and have recently discovered another connection, with the Eyre family, through my grandmother Sarah Ann Eyre, who married Fred Jordan, of Stretton, whose ancestors came from Appleby. Sarah Ann was from Newton Solney, but I am now aware of her links with the "Appleby" Eyres, and have found that Reginald Joseph Eyre was my grandmothers relation, also Winifred Mary, and Charles Frederick Eyre. Does anyone have any information on present family members? Bryan Chinn
