Bates shop in Church Street

My Uncle, John Bates, recalls that the building in Church Street which housed the shop, bakehouse and residential premises had a name. Presumably this dates from the time that the front section was only a house and before one of the front rooms became the shop. John cannot remember the name, does anyone else?

I've asked Mum and she cannot recollect any name for the building - the problem here is that there were cottages behind occupied separately which could cloud the issue. The building does not feature in the sale of properties when the Appleby Hall Estate was sold. It was a shop as long as she can remember.

The shop seems to be have unnamed at the time of the fire there in 1938 -
