have read a comment from Margaret Beeson grand daughter of a Ernie and Emma Coldicott (nee Jordan) when she was talking about Botts Lane in which she says there are Jordans in the church registers going back to the 1600's. could Margaret or anybody tell me which church(s) Margaret is referring to, as you can see by my name i would be interested in looking through these records (with the vicars blessing of course).

I have just found, on IGI, that my gt. grandfather, John Jordan was born in Appleby c.1852. but moved to Stretton prior to 1881 census..I think his father may have been Alfred.(Jourdan)...if any one can help with further information I would be grateful. My Grandfather was Fred Jordan, with brothers Henry and Thomas, sister June all born in Stretton. My mother was Frances Jordan b.1914. Bryan Chinn

Re. Jordans. Further to previous post, John Jourdan christened 05/2/1852 at Appleby, son of Alfred/Ann, John was named as witness at his son Fred's wedding to Sarah Eyre at Stretton in 1897. Another Jordan family, head Henry was also at Stretton by 1891. wife Frances, children John, Charles, Fred, Beatrice. Any information on connections?
