There has been a recent surge in scam telephone calls.
Your pc has a virus, your IP address has been high-jacked, we owe you a refund etc. etc.
One recent (and quite aggressive scam) is to claim they are going to disconnect you from the net unless you co-operate. DON'T !
The hook may be different but the objective is usually to gain access to your pc and eventually your bank details.
TalkTalk customers should be extra vigilant at the moment as TalkTalk "lost" some customer account numbers and the scammers are now quoting the account number to prove they are genuinely from TalkTalk.
Other call may claim to be from Microsoft, Windows Security, "Your Bank", "Your ISP", the World Wide Web, anything that sounds like a legitimate company.
Just remember no legitimate company will phone you "out of the blue" and request access to your pc and particularly your bank or credit card details.
