I don't expect any answer with this thread, but anyway, here goes....... Is there anyone in the village engaging in deep space astro photography?
For the un initiated that's taking images of DSO's (Deep Space Objects) such as galaxies and nebula. etc. If there is such another nut, perhaps we could have a chat sometime ?

Hey Albert -
Welcome to the "new" forums.
Your request may be a bit of a long shot - but I guess long shots are small steps in deep space terms.

Albert -
Maybe a little progress - I couldn't say anything before as I needed to ask my son first (and Saturday morning's aren't his speciality).
Mike studied Astro physics at university and has kept up an interest since and as he says - knows what he is looking at.
He doesn't do the photography himself but an ex-works colleague of his is heavily into the subject and knows who is who in the various organisations.

Thanks Chris, but I am not in need of contacting any more astro guys as I am already on many astro forums etc. I was just flying a kite to see if anyone in Appleby was astro inclined.
BTW, the 4g dongle is still going OK and providing I keep video low it's not too pricey. Regards.

Ok, no problem.
On, the subject of dongles and broadband etc..
As a Broadband Plus TV customer Talktalk have now given me a free SIM card for my mobile. Part of their new "quad play" offering !
100 minutes, 250 texts and 200 meg of data per month - not a lot - but more than enough for me to get rid of my old payg mobile with Vodafone.
Every little helps.

Would astro turf laid on a slopping pitch count as an astro inclination ?

>Every little helps. Uggg. Go to Aldi on the opposite side of the road. They help even more, and it's quiet.

Not if you are honest about it and on the level.
