On the wall of the Black Horse in Top St, just to the left of the bus stop, is a small hanging hook. It is very old as it has made circular wear in to the wall over the years. So what was it used for? There is no gate nearby, nor any sign that there ever was one, to use the hook to hold any gate back in the past. So,what was this hook for? A pint inside for the first correct answer!

Could be one of two things - there used to be gates into the courtyard at the Black Horse, and these were replaced more than once. Or, there used to be shutters on the window in the ground floor (now replaced by a smaller one when the living accomodation was converted for use as toilets.
