Hi all, does anyone know of a district in Leicestershire once called Peatling-Magna. I have uncovered what i think is a marriage of an ancester of mine in 1593 in this district.
Regards
Ray

Ray- A village of that name is on the Leicestershire Villages Web site. Not much information, but may be a starting point. www.leicestershirevillages.com/peatlingmagna/If it's the right village, it is just south of Wigston, south of Leicester. 31 miles from Appleby by road according to Google Earth. The available Parish Registers for Peatling Magna are held at the main Record Office in Wigston. According to their catalogue, Marriages records for the year 1593 are available (on microfiche). Chris
