Dear neighbours APPLEBY MAGNA IS MISSING OUT Did you know Measham’s telephone exchange provides your broadband? Did you know BT is planning to upgrade some of its rural exchanges to superfast fibre-optic? Did you know our village is about to be overlooked? Why should our village miss out? Less than 1% of people have voted for our exchange We need 4280 votes to receive next generation broadband You DO NOT have to be a BT customer I’m a local resident with TalkTalk and I've just voted To vote for your house go to: www.bt.com/racetoinfinityAll villages on the Measham exchange will benefit if you vote: Appleby Magna Measham Snarestone Newton Burgoland Donisthorpe Oakthorpe Swepstone Don’t be sluggish – BT will close their survey on December 31st Your friendly neighbourhood Snarestone Man

This is an outrage that other villages will get faster broadband just because we fail to vote, come on people of Appleby Magna!

You need to visit the BT RaceToInfinity web site to see the rules for this competition. The FAQ's are particularly revealing. There are far more if's and but's attached to this BT offer than are initially apparent. And it is a competition - not a gimme. Only 5 exchanges in the whole of the UK can "win" this possible upgrade. The competition is not limited to just rural exchanges.
Also the prize isn't to have your exchange upgraded - it is to have your exchange put on the BT schedule for upgrade - there are still significant hurdles to be cleared after that.
PLEASE - vote - but don't anyone hold their breath waiting for BT on this one.
Chris
p.s. There are some people who think this may be little more than a cynical viral marketing campaign by BT.
