There's a grandfather clock made by Henry Baker of Appleby in Mellors and Kirk's auction on 26th March in Nottingham. They've catalogued it as George III, but it looks earlier to me, so possibly the Henry Baker who was the elder brother of Joseph Baker 1 (as listed in the "Clockmakers of Appleby" article). They've put a very low estimate on it, so it could be a bargain for someone with a particular interest in the village and its history. mellorsandkirkcatalogues.co.uk/Catalogues/fs260310/cat2_search.php

Canon Quinney at Nailstone had a Baker Long Case Clock but I don't know what happened to it after his demise. There was also a good example in the Newark Houses Museum at Leicester.

Hi Apologies but I see that you have knowledge of Henry Baker Clocks. I believe my grandfather clock is Henry Baker, the name Baker Appleby is on the face. It is one-handed and there is another dial in side the main one, in the shape of a crescent, with further numbers on it. How would one go about valuing this item and selling it? Thank you for your assistance- it is much appreciated!
