Recently discovered a gggrandfather (George) hailed from Appleby (birth about 1817) but finding it difficult to link him with any of the family featured in the 1841 census. Am aware that he moved to the North West but would appreciate any info you may have on the WYATT's of APPLEBY

Wyattp -
I have just done a quick search of the History Web and there are lots of Wyatt's mentioned in the 1841 census. But if none of these match your family search here is another, more than likely unhelpful suggestion (so apologies in advance if this is barking up a totally different family tree).
About three years ago, we had someone who initially requested information on an Appleby family. After a while they said they had discovered that their family was from Appleby in Yorkshire, rather than Leicestershire. Although according to my Microsoft Autoroute there are Appleby's in Cumbria and Lincolnshire, but not Yorkshire.
A bit of a long shot, but would this also partially explain the North West connection (i.e. Appleby in Cumbria).

Thanks Chris for your prompt response. The 1851 census clearly!!! states that George Whyatt was definately from Appleby in Leicestershire. I'm baffled by the insertion of the 'h'. This led me to the Appleby webiste where I discovered all these other wyatt's! I know he married a Harriet from Altrincham in Cheshire around the mid 1840's which explains the North West connection (his descendants (and I) now still live in the Bolton area) Just done a quick tally on the number of wyatt's born in Appleby (Leicestershire) and featuring in the 1851 census - around 31. Trying to get a concrete link with one of these with a little help perhaps from one of your contributors.

Wyattp -
Another possible trail to follow.
If you go to our History Web, do a search on Wyatt using the navigation bar at the top of the page - then select Collected Emails - 3, then select Daniel Spencer (number 7 on the list) - he was also interested in the Wyatt family (amongst others) and says he has "a reasonable amount of information" which he is willing to share.
The supplied email address is obviously a little old, but probably no harm in giving it a try.

I also have a connection to the WYATT's and I believe I connect to them all so would love to speak to anyone with connections. The WYATT line also married into the MOULD family who were vicars of the village
